Referendum TPA Donation Roundup: Stay Free Alberta Reports $39K
Stay Free Alberta led all third-party advertisers with more than $39,000 raised in the latest Elections Alberta reporting period, as pro-independence groups again outraised federalist ones.
Stay Free Alberta — the group led by Mitch Sylvestre that spearheaded the pro-independence citizen-initiative petition — reported more than $39,000 in donations in the latest Elections Alberta reporting period, the most of any single third-party advertiser.
The bulk of the week's giving was split among three groups: Stay Free Alberta, the federalist Alberta's Voice, and pro-independence Let Alberta Decide, which continues to hold a large lead on the overall fundraising leaderboard. Thomas Lukaszuk's Forever Canadian has still not declared any referendum-related donations.
The 16 pro-independence groups raised $74,641 during the period, once again outraising the federalist side. Albertans have now given more than $1.18 million to referendum TPAs on both sides combined.
